EV Users

All interested organisations, especially those with large vehicle fleets, are invited to participate as early adopters of EVs. This will provide a broader base for evaluation and testing of critical data, such as the performance of EVs as well as the ease of charging under local road conditions and environment.

What are the EV models available?

Currently, we have 4 EV models available in the EV test-bed. For additional information on the specific EV models or to express interest in taking on a particular EV model, please contact the respective EV dealers.

How can I sign up?

You may sign up to purchase or lease the EVs by obtaining the relevant forms from the respective EV dealers. With the completed forms, the EV dealers will follow up on the approval process on your behalf. Once the forms have been approved, the EV dealer will approach you to sign on the purchase/leasing agreement for the EV.

For EVs under the purchasing scheme, please allow about 3-4 months of lead time after you sign the purchase agreement for the delivery of the EV.

How can I charge?

Bosch is the appointed Charging Service Provider for the test-bed. In addition, you may charge from home with the charging cables provided by your dealer. For details, please click here.

How do I charge my EV?

Bosch is the designated Charging Service Provider for the test-bed and will construct a charging station at your preferred location. In addition, you may also charge from home with the charging cables provided by your dealer. For details, please click here to find out more.

What are the responsibilities of an EV test-bedding participant?

As a participant, you will be required to:

  • Purchase or lease EVs from the auto manufacturers with whom the EV Taskforce is working; and
  • Log in key data such as number of passengers in the EV, weather conditions and air-conditioning status via a smart device located within the EV for every trip.

Participants would be required to provide some data to the taskforce for the test-bed. While most of the parameters are automatically recorded by the data-loggers in the EVs, the users are required to input the following data:

  • Status of air-conditioning (On/Off)
  • Weather conditions
  • Number of Passengers
  • Reason of maintenance (if applicable, from workshop)
  • Date of maintenance (if applicable, from workshop)
  • Odometer reading: Date of maintenance (if applicable, from workshop)

Users can input the data via manual forms/a touch screen through the data logging system.

Enhanced Transport Technology Innovation and Development Scheme (TIDES+)

Companies can apply for TIDES+ if they intend to purchase EVs under the EV test-bedding programme. The enhanced TIDES+ scheme, administered by EDB and LTA, waives all vehicular taxes for the purpose of R&D and test-bedding of transport technologies.

  • Additional Registration Fees (ARF);
  • Certificate of Entitlement (COE);
  • Road tax;
  • Excise duty

Vehicles approved under TIDES+ can enjoy the tax waiver for an initial period of six (6) years.

Companies' vehicles must be used for the sole purpose of conducting research and development, including test-bedding activities. Vehicles approved will be issued with “Special Purpose Licenses”.

Premise Owners

As part of the test-bed, some of these EV charging stations will be located within commercial buildings or car parks. The EV Taskforce seeks your kind understanding and cooperation with Bosch to support this national initiative.

EV charging stations are also considered as one of the possible green building features under the BCA Green Mark for building schemes.

Charging Service Providers

The EV Taskforce has appointed Bosch to roll out the initial charging infrastructure for the test-bed programme and support the EV participants in the test-bed.

Other companies that wish to set up EV charging stations on a commercial basis can do so as long as the charging stations comply with the safety and technical standards imposed by the EMA through the Technical Reference (TR25:2010) for Electric Vehicles Charging System.
