Only generation licensees are authorised to generate electricity by means of one or more generating units with individual name-plate rating of 10MW or above. If connected to the electricity transmission system, the generating unit(s) must be registered with the Energy Market Company (EMC) and the generation licensees will have to compete to secure dispatch of their respective generating units in the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS).
