Safety Tips

Always Engage a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW)

All electrical work must be undertaken or carried out by a licensed electrical worker. Such electrical work includes new wiring, rewiring and extensions which have to be tested before the supply is turned on. When consumer needs any electrical work to be done at his premises, he is advised to check that the person whom he intends to engage to undertake or perform the electrical work has a valid electrical worker licence issued by the Authority.

Always Engage a Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW)

All gas service work must be undertaken or carried out by a licensed gas service worker. Such gas service work includes new piped gas installation, maintenance and repair work. The installation, repair, replacement and testing of a piped gas appliance should also be carried out by a licensed gas service worker or a licensed gas service worker (restricted). The licensed gas service worker (restricted) is only permitted to install, repair, replace and test piped gas appliances but not piped gas installation. When consumer needs any gas work to be done at his premises, he is advised to check that the person whom he intends to engage to undertake or perform the gas service work has a valid gas service worker licence issued by the Authority.
