Sembcorp-EMA Energy Technology Partnership (SEETP)

EMA and Sembcorp are collaborating on the SEETP, a $20 million initiative to encourage the translation and commercialisation of energy research into technologies and solutions to address Singapore’s energy needs. Under this partnership, researchers and companies would have the opportunity to develop new technologies that could potentially be test-bedded at Sembcorp's facilities, and leverage on Sembcorp's strong business networks for commercialisation.

Launched as a $10 million partnership in October 2014, the SEETP was renewed by EMA and Sembcorp in October 2018 for another $10 million, bringing the total commitment under the SEETP to $20 million.

Thus far, S$10 million in grants have been awarded under the SEETP to three R&D projects. The awardees will develop solutions to:
i. Enhance the efficiency of pipeline inspections via autonomous vehicles and automation;
ii. Recover low-grade waste heat and enhance energy efficiency at industrial plants; and
iii. Automate plant boiler inspections through online condition monitoring and data science.
