The inaugural Energy Pavilion was held at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) in January this year.
With partners from the power industry, the Energy Pavilion served as a platform to highlight career opportunities within the sector to more than 10,000 individuals over two days.
Singapore's power sector offers a wide range of career opportunities across the entire power value chain. These range from power generation and transmission, distribution to retail and trading and energy efficiency management.
Carrying the Powering Lives theme, the pavilion saw participation from top names within the industry. They included Keppel Energy, Sembcorp, Senoko Energy, Singapore Power, Tuas Power and YTL PowerSeraya.
This event has enabled the participating companies to enhance brand awareness and increase mindshare among the students, creating greater interest and visibility for the power sector. Students were able to interact directly with the industry players, allowing them to gain a better and deeper understanding of the sector, as well as the different career paths they can take within the industry.
Positive feedback received regarding the Energy Pavilion has been encouraging, given the sector's needs for an additional 2,400 technical professionals to boost the sector over the next decade.
