Registration is now open for the 6th annual Singapore International Energy Week

The Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) returns this year with the theme "New Horizons in Energy". Against this backdrop, the Singapore Energy Summit provides a platform for energy leaders from the public- and private-sector to exchange perspectives on energy opportunities and prospects. The high-level dialogue will focus on five key energy concerns:

  • "Re-drawing the Energy Map": Reviews how energy demand in Asia is influencing global geopolitics and trade flows.
  • "In Conversation: Gas – A Game Changer?": Looks at the drivers that will allow gas to play a larger role in fuelling Asia's energy demand.
  • "The Resurgence of Fossil Fuels": Discusses the impact of the continued dominance of fossil fuels on policy and renewable energy development.
  • "Low Carbon Development and Green Growth": Examines available solutions for achieving low carbon development while maintaining sound economic growth.
  • "Powering Asia's Future Energy Needs": Offers perspectives on the outlook for Asia's energy needs.

Confirmed speakers for SIEW 2013 include returning panellist Jose Maria Figueres, President of the Carbon War Room and Former President of Costa Rica; Dr Fatih Birol, Chief Economist of the International Energy Agency (IEA); Dr Charif Souki, Chief Executive Officer & President of Cheniere Energy; and Ambassador Barry Desker, Dean of the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies.

SIEW will be held from 28 October to 1 November 2013 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands Singapore.
