Energy Ministers And Industry Captains Among Key Speakers At SIEW 2013

This year's Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) aims to promote an interesting energy dialogue for participants. It will see a host of regional energy ministers and heads of global corporations sharing their perspectives about global energy developments.

Delivering the SIEW Opening Keynote Address will be Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qatargas. Sheikh Khalid will give his views on how the development of unconventional resources has given rise to "New Horizons in Energy". His speech will frame the week's discussions at the Singapore Energy Summit (SES) on 28 October.

The SES will comprise five panel sessions on topics such as the transformative role of natural gas and increased use of fossil fuels on the global energy landscape; Asia's outlook and future energy needs; and the prospects for low carbon development and green growth.

Other energy ministers and senior government representatives from the region will be joining Sheikh Khalid at the SES. There will also be leaders from the global energy industry including:

SIEW 2013 will also host several associated events and eight enhanced roundtables covering clean coal, renewable energy, unconventional gas, nuclear safety, electromobility, energy efficiency and smart cities. These will provide more platforms for energy discussions, knowledge sharing and networking for like-minded energy professionals.

Platts will present its inaugural Asia CEO of the Year award at its annual Top 250 Global Energy Company Awards dinner. Returning partner conferences include the Asia Future Energy Forum, Asia Smart Grid/Electromobility, Downstream Asia, Gas Asia Summit, PV Asia Pacific Expo and Conference, Singapore Electricity Roundtable and "In Dialogue With Youth" event.
