All turbines were full speed ahead as PacificLight Power (PLP) kicked off its launch on 3 June with an electric show - in more ways than one. Located on Jurong Island, the $1.2 billion 800MW state-of-the-art combined cycle gas turbine facility contributes 6.2 percent of the city-state's total installed generating capacity.

EMA’s Chief Executive Chee Hong Tat (below, third from right), in his speech, said that PLP's "entry into the Singapore market has benefitted consumers as it adds to the diversity of our generation sector and enhances competition in our electricity market".
