Companies and research organisations seeking to test-bed innovative grid solutions could recently look to the Pulau Ubin Micro-grid Test-bed to do so.
EMA had in August launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) under Phase 2 of the test-bed to invite ideas to develop and pilot energy-related technologies, leveraging on the existing micro-grid infrastructure. The submissions of proposals closed on 10 October 2014.
Technology areas of interest include energy analytics, energy storage and grid asset management. Safeguards would be put in place to maintain the safety and reliability of electricity supply to end-users.
