About 5,000 workers in the Power sector work hard every day to keep the lights on and gas flowing to over 5.5 million people in Singapore. We continue to grow with a strong pool of Singaporeans and Permanent Residents at its core, making up 96 percent of the total numbers.
In 2014, employment in the Power sector grew faster than employment for the economy overall.
More than half of the 790 new positions since 2011 were technical jobs such as engineers, technical officers and technicians. About 64 percent of the workforce in the Power sector, or 3,250 workers, were technical roles that played a crucial part in keeping the lights on and the gas flowing.
