Improving Energy Efficiency and Optimising Consumption

How Businesses Can Be More Energy Efficient

  • If your premises are already installed with advanced electricity meters, make use of the data provided to understand your electricity consumption patterns and make informed decisions to conserve energy.
  • Invest in more efficient technologies and equipment.
  • Participate in relevant Government schemes such as the Industry Energy Efficiency Package to be more energy efficient.
  • Contact the Energy Efficiency Promotion Centre (EEPC) at nea_eepc@nea.gov.sg for assistance on the mandatory energy management requirements under the Energy Conservation Act, energy efficiency investments, information on energy efficiency measures, available incentives, energy efficiency training, or to link up with knowledge partners.

How is the Government helping you?

  • Introduced the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for industrial equipment and systems (e.g. chilled water systems) to help industrial companies reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Launched an enhanced Industry Energy Efficiency Package to provide funding support for companies to adopt more energy efficient technologies and reduce their carbon footprint. The grants under the package include:
  • Resource Efficiency Grant (Energy) for companies in the manufacturing sector.
  • Energy Efficiency Fund for companies in the manufacturing sector, including the small-and-medium enterprises.
  • Genco Energy Efficiency Grant where EMA will support energy efficiency projects by the power generation companies. Each project must result in measurable and verifiable carbon abatement of at least 0.5 kilo-tonnes per annum (ktpa).
