Responsibilities
The External Relations Department (ERD)
formulates strategies and policies to establish and develop relations and
cooperation with countries and international organisations to advance
Singapore's energy interests and to establish Singapore as an energy thought
leader and responsible global citizen. This includes promoting Singapore's
energy interests in regional fora such as ASEAN, APEC and G20. As part of
these initiatives to further enhance engagement, ERD also oversees EMA's annual
flagship energy event, the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW),
featuring a comprehensive schedule of energy-focused conferences, exhibitions
and meetings.
EMA is stepping up our engagement
with energy International Organisations (IOs) to strengthen Singapore's
position as an energy thought leader and our relevance in the global energy
architecture. This includes our cooperation with the International Energy
Agency (IEA) on two key initiatives: (a) the Singapore-IEA Regional Training
Hub, which provides energy training programmes to develop industry-specific
capabilities in the region, and (b) the Singapore-IEA Forum, which provides a
platform for energy stakeholders to engage in a debate on the future of the
industry. Besides the IEA, you will also be part of the team responsible
for our cooperation with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA),
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations Economic and Social
Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Sustainable Energy for All
(SE4ALL), among others. There will also be an opportunity to be involved
in other bilateral, regional and SIEW-related work that the Department oversees.
Requirements
You should have strong analytical
and organisational skills, with a good understanding of and/or experience in
international relations and energy. You should also be an excellent
communicator and a team player, and be prepared to travel overseas for work.
Those with a good command of a second language would have an advantage.
