Pavilion Gas and Shell to Import Next Tranche of Liquefied Natural Gas for Singapore

24 Oct 2016
Media Releases 24 Oct 2016
  1. The Energy Market Authority (EMA) has awarded Pavilion Gas Pte Ltd and Shell Eastern Trading (Pte) Ltd each a licence to import the next tranche of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for Singapore. This was announced today by Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) during the opening of Singapore International Energy Week 2016.
  2. Pavilion Gas and Shell were selected via a two-stage Request for Proposal (RFP) process to appoint up to two LNG importers to supply Singapore with LNG. The two companies offered reliable, flexible and competitively-priced LNG supplies to Singapore, and demonstrated a strong ability to cater to different market needs. They secured the most demand from different buyers during Stage Two of the RFP.
  3. For the next tranche, Pavilion Gas and Shell will each have exclusivity to market up to 1 Mtpa of LNG or for 3 years, whichever is earlier. The next tranche of imports is expected to commence from 2017. Interested gas buyers may approach the appointed importers on their gas supply terms.
  4. EMA would like to thank all the companies that participated in this RFP. Information on the appointed importers is available on EMA’s website (https://www.ema.gov.sg/LNG_RFP.aspx).
