Eligibility

To apply for a scholarship with EMA for your Overseas/Local undergraduate programme, you should meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • A Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Hold excellent academic results in:
    • GCE ‘A’ Level
    • International Baccalaureate (IB)
    • Polytechnic Diploma
    • University results (for Mid-term scholarship application)
  • Possess outstanding records in CCA and other non-academic activities
  • Preferred fields of study, but not limited:
    • Engineering (Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical)
    • Economics
    • Materials Science

You are not required to secure a university offer before sending in your application. However, if your application is successful, you will be required to provide proof that you have accepted a university offer.

You can still apply for our scholarship after commencing your undergraduate studies. However, you need to complete at least one year of studies and submit your results as part of your application.

In the event that your application is successful, the bond period and benefits that you enjoy will be pro-rated.

The number of scholarship awards varies, depending on the applicant cohort as well as our organisational needs.

If you are shortlisted, you will undergo several rounds of selection, which may include interviews, activity-based assessments, and psychometric tests.

As part of our scholarship program, our scholars have access to various development opportunities, such as job rotations across different work areas in EMA, secondments to other agencies and provision of technical and management training.

You will also get to intern with EMA during one of your term breaks to gain greater work exposure and experience. The internship usually occurs at the end of your first or second year of undergraduate studies.
